Low Impact Camping

Camping

• Never camp within 100 feet of fresh water
• Select previously used campsites
• Never dig up grass to clear tent site

Garbage

• Pack it in, Pack it out
• Take only pictures, leave only footprints

Water

• Never dump waste or soap into fresh water
• Clean dishes away from streams and lakes

Fires

• No fires unless an emergency situation arises
• If a fire is necessary, use previously made pits
• Make sure you put your fire ALL THE WAY OUT
• Never cut trees for wood, use only dead wood

Sanitation

• Use facilities provided if available
• Pack out all waste

Hiking in the Wilderness

• Never take shortcuts
• Rest on hard ground, not vegetation, grass or flowers
