The 450D Nylon and the XHS harness system makes the
Euro Travel a lightweight alternative to the heavier
travel packs. Also, the base of the backpack is in 950D
Kodra, one of the strongest and most durable synthetic
products and a fabric often used on military backpacks
for strength and abrasive resistance. All fabric for
White Mountain™ backpacks is manufactured by Kolon Int.
in Korea, a highly reputable and leading world fabric
manufacturer that produces high quality synthetic
materials. A popular choice for those who need a lighter
quality backpack with a fully functional bushwalking
harness.
The stated total capacity on a White Mountain™ Travel
pack includes the day pack, excluding the portion of the
daypack compressed behind the daypack attachment zipper.
The total capacity of the daypack compressed and zipped
to the travel pack is 10 litres, and uncompressed the
total capacity is 20.50 litres.
If the daypack is to be used and attached to the
Travel Pack fully expanded, we recommend using the
D-Ring Attachment Straps on the daypack. Simply attach
these to the D-Rings on top of the Travel Pack and use
the existing lower compression straps on the main pack
(Attaching the lower compression straps to the daypack
as usual.) This method of attachment when confronted
with a fully loaded daypack will prevent damage to the
daypack attachment zipper.
The quoted capacity of either 65 litres, 75 litres or
85 litres does not take into account the compressed
portion the daypack. This would add conservatively 5
litres to the quoted capacity of the Euro Travel,
bringing the total capacity to either 75 litres, 85
litres or 95 litres respectively.
There are two compartments on this backpack, the
upper and lower divided by a draw cord division so you
can use the backpack as one compartment, or two
compartments. It has two suitcase carry handles, (one on
the side and one on top), a removable 12.50 litre
daypack with an internal organiser and a facility to
install a water reservoir complete with an exit point
for the water reservoir hose, one shoulder sling, and a
zipped cover over the harness (the harness cover and
shoulder sling can both be folded and stored at the base
of the backpack). We also provide a facility to attach
the daypack without using the zips, a handy option when
attaching a very full daypack. Inside this backpack
there is two internal compression straps with a
removable organiser, a full wet proof pocket on the
inside of the front loading (panel opening) lid, which
is great for storing laundry or the temporary storage of
damp clothing, and six external compression straps. The
two lower compression straps are long enough to
accommodate a sleeping mat if required, or can also be
used to strap extra gear to your backpack. There are
four D-Rings on top of this backpack, which allows you
to add further compression straps and secure more gear
on top if required.
