Adventurer Maps - Produces maps of old goldfields, historic
areas and tracks. Concentrates on the Walhalla to Enochs
Point and Powelltown areas - this is the region north-east
of Melbourne. Some of these maps are useful for bushwalking
showing more tracks than the official topographic maps.

Australian Bushwalking & Camping Reference Site - The
aim of this site is present valid and useful guides in the
best that the Australian bush has to offer. We strive to
provide stacks of handy information on where to go and what
to do - and what not to do - while you're out there. Since
it's inception in August 1996 we've grown from a single

The Great North Walk - The Great North Walk is a 250
km path from central Sydney to downtown Newcastle in Australia.
It is fantastic for holidays, family weekends, bush exploration
and treasure hunts. This site offers information on hikes,

Tracks and Trails of Victoria - Hike a challenging alpine
track to a secluded waterfall. Victoria's walking and riding
trails provide the perfect getaway for everyone. You will
find many trails are close to Melbourne and most are within
easy driving distance of the city.

Victorian National Parks Association - VNPA is dedicated
to the protection of Victoria’s unique natural environment
and its biodiversity. A member-based, not-for-profit organisation,
that run the largest bushwalking program in Victoria.

Victorian Orienteering Association - Orienteering offers
people the chance to learn how to navigate confidently -
whether it be through local streets and parks of Melbourne
or out in the state forests in Victoria. While there are
many forms of orienteering, the common element that applies
to all of these is a map. In most cases, the map identifies

- Bayside Bushwalking
Club - Founded in 1984, the BBC has grown steadily and
is one of the most active bushwalking Clubs in Victoria.

Brisbane Catholic Bushwalking Club - Provides details
of regular bushwalks in South East Queensland. Includes
committee member list, meeting times, and events calendar.

Canberra Bushwalking Club - organises walks in the Canberra
and South East New South Wales region.

Coast and Mountain Walkers of NSW Inc Bushwalking Club
- Established in 1934 and based in Sydney. Offering a walk
programme for members, social timetable, conservation policy,
and list of equipment suppliers.

Confederation of Bushwalking Clubs - Titled as 'Australian
Bushwalking Web' it is the site for the Confederation of
Bushwalking Clubs in New South Wales. This represents about
60 clubs with around 10,000 members. The site contains information
well worth reading and extensive links to other bushwalking
clubs in every state. A good starting point for browsing
about bushwalking and associated outdoor recreation activities.

Federation of Victorian Walking Clubs - The Victorian
Federation is also fairly large representing about 70 clubs
with 12,000 members. The web site is still growing and contains
useful links to local clubs.

Hobart Walking Club - Encourages bushwalking, skiing
and outdoor activities, and promotes interest in the preservation
of flora, fauna, and natural scenery.

James Cook University Bushwalking Club - Provides students
with access to NQs wilderness areas, and promotes an understanding

Outdoors Club - The Outdoors Club is one of the largest
clubs at RMIT University in Melbourne. The club offers many
Activities, including

Rock Climbing,
Cross Country,
Backcountry Skiing,
Mountain Biking,
Caving,
Kayaking and Canoeing,
Orienteering,
Rogaining,
Mountaineering,
Adventure Racing and regular
Social events. There are trips running most weekends
during semester and extended trips during the Uni holidays
and long weekends. Mega-trips are run over summer for the
keen and more adventurous.

Queensland Federation of Bushwalking Clubs - A large
site with very good general advice and a useful set of brief
notes to many walks in southern Queensland.

Sydney Bush Walkers - One of the oldest bushwalking
clubs in Australia.

of South Australia - This website represents 33 clubs
in South Australia. This site started in May 1999 and is
still small consisting mainly of club lists and information
on how to join.

Friends of the Heysen Trail. They are responsible for
much of this track's maintenance and should be contacted
if you are contemplating this trail. The web site does not
contain a lot of information to download but they do produce
good printed information for walkers to purchase.
Victoria
-
Great Dividing Trail - The Great Dividing Trail Association
has constructed a walking track from Castlemaine to Ballarat.
This active group is currently working on extensions to
Bendigo and the side track through Lerderderg Gorge to Bacchus
Marsh.

Short Walk in Victoria - Most walks described are located
in the general area around Melbourne, but there are many
further afield!
Western Australia
-
Bibbulmun Track - An excellent overview of the Bibbulmun
Track in Western Australia by The Friends of the Bibbulmun
Track. Website includes, detailed maps, facilities, history,
photo's, track services and offers a membership.

WalkGPS - Bushwalks in the Perth region, Western Australia
This site provides descriptions, maps, waypoints, routes
and photos for 40 one-day bushwalks most of which are less
than 100km from the city of Perth in Western Australia

Anthony Dunk - A small site but worth visiting if you
intend to explore the mountains and gorges north of the
Blue Mountains behind Sydney.

David Noble - This site contains lots of information
about the canyons behind Sydney and has an excellent photo
gallery – well worth looking at.

Geoff Murray - A small site containing photographs of
some of Tasmania's walking areas. There are some nice photos
here that will give you another view of what these places
look like.

Geoff Wise's Wilderness - Has some good trip reports,
a selection of photographs and a set of links to other sites.
The Links page is extensive and a great site to browse for
other bushwalking related sites. This site is also regularly
growing and is worth revisiting.

Hiking In Tasmania - A personal website by Krishna,
including three very lengthy photographic tours of the Overland
Track, the Western Arthur's (including Federation Peak)
and the Southern Ranges (including Precipitous Bluff). With
around 100 images in each tour, they provide a very good
feel of what there is. The site also contains some useful
links to walking resources for those intending to walk in
Tasmania.

John Chapman - Selected bushwalking tracks and ski-touring
in Australia, details of my guide books along with the latest
update notes for those books.

Manfred's Bushwalking Pages - These pages, reflect some
of the beauty and celebration of many places accessed by
devotees of "rucksack" sports. They contain brief descriptions
of a few of our National Parks and other bushwalking venues,
some trip reports, a host of interesting links as well as
"Fluff & Stuff" of interest picked up along the way by this
ageing bushwalker.

Tyrone T Thomas - A full time bushwalking author who
has authored an extensive set of guide books which concentrate
mainly on one day walks. Has details of his books, a good
